The Sayings of Samuel Godfrey George - November 2013

People who believe in God should not turn to other spirits and ghosts for help. God has strictly forbidden any communication between the living and the dead.

Do not be self-conscious. Do not be conscious of others as well. Just do your work and look only at God.

Jesus still remains the same today as He was 2000 years ago. He still saves the suffering and the afflicted. He still frees the captives.

Jesus Christ saw the specialness of children and welcomed them. The kingdom of God belongs to those who are like children. But many of our children are not well. Some are even endangered. We need to pray for them.

Let me eagerly await the fulfilment of God's plan for my life. Let me joyfully hope for every good thing that God is about to do in my life.

What shall I say today to God who blesses me even as I mess everything up?

You must believe that something good will happen today. Believe that this is the day when God will reveal His goodness to you.

I'm God-crazy. That's the best kind of craziness.

God will bless. Of this I am sure.

There was a concerted attempt to drive me out of my house and the building in which I live. Some of my neighbours made an elaborate case against me and my workers. For two years at least they tried to remove me. But I am still here by the grace of God. As far as I am concerned the truth is simple: "It is God who brought me here. It is God who will take me out of here."

If I need to do something I will do it, no matter how many times I have to try to do it.

It is God who helps. It is always God who helps. People are only agents that God uses. But God is the helper.

When children are difficult just pray for them. When they rebel against you and walk away from the faith that you hold dear just take them to the Lord in prayer and trust Him to bring them out of the darkness they have fallen in love with.

A gracious God requires gracious believers.

Children are a blessing. They can also be a problem. Some can be a huge problem. What do you do when your child rebels against your authority? What do you do when he walks away from a certain faith that is dear to you? If you are a believer in God, if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, how do you react if your son or daughter walks away from the faith? What should you do? Take the simple prescription of James, the brother of Jesus Christ. You are in trouble and you should pray for your child and ask others to pray as well.

Every statement that I make and every video and image that I upload on the Internet is a privilege that God has given me. These days I am more aware of it than ever. I pray that God extends this privilege till I have completely conveyed all that is on my mind.

From a state of voicelessness and wordlessness I have been given a voice and words by a God who called me out of darkness into His light. So when I call myself "The Voice" I point to what God has enabled me to be, a voice, even the voice for God, speaking His truth and His message.

Don't be easily swayed by human arguments when they go against God's truth.

You are what you believe you are. Believe that you are God's child and that you are greatly loved by Him.

Are you willing to love the one who hurts you? This could reveal whether Jesus is in you.

This is my message today: "God will not abandon His people who trust in Him. If you are in desperate trouble and are crying out to God for help, He will certainly arrive to help you even if the whole world seems to be against you. I was in a seemingly impossible situation. My house owner told me to leave my house a few months ago, because of the concerted attempt of some of my neighbours to cast me and my family out of our home for no good reason. I cried out to God daily and implored Him to defend me against my enemies. And God did just that. He changed my house owner's mind and I am still living in the same house. And God gave me the grace to forgive and pray for my enemies. God is great."

Maybe I am going through this suffering so that I can be a comfort to those who are also going through this.

I know myself. There is no glory that is intrinsic to me. Whatever good that can be found in me was never in me to start with. It came from another place. It came from God.

Pleasing people is never the ultimate goal. Pleasing God is.

It is insecurity that makes one selfish. If one finds security in God one can learn to look beyond oneself.

If you have received the love of God you are also ready to give it to someone who utterly does not deserve it.

You cannot merit what is graciously given.

The love you receive, give it to someone else.

It is grace that eases my breath.

Do not hesitate to utter the plain truth.

Intellectual pride is nonsensical. Of what can Man can be truly proud? The good in Man comes from God.

Jesus is the Messiah who has delivered Man from his eternal destruction. Those who wait for another do so in vain.

To bear with the negatives bearing in mind the positives is contentment.

Every day is a time to love. Every moment holds the opportunity for us to show love. As Christians we are commanded by Christ to love one another as He loved us. This we must do every day.

Let there be no confusion regarding the status of Jesus Christ as God. Several years before the incarnation of Christ, the prophet Isaiah speaks of Jesus as "The Mighty God." and "The Everlasting Father". And more importantly Thomas the Apostle addresses Jesus Christ as "my Lord and my God" and Jesus does not correct him. This leaves no room for doubt that Jesus Christ is God.

Though I am fond of Christmas cakes and other goodies, the best food I can have during Christmas is Christ himself. I must consume Christ as He told me to. It is His truth that I must consume and His love that I must drink.

The lack of spirituality in Christmas is lamentable. for this is not the way true believers of Christ should celebrate Christmas. Christmas should not be a light, trivial moment. It is not a moment for frivolous and mindless celebration. It is a moment for a serious consideration of our standing with God and our relationship with His Son Jesus Christ.

Some people are not comfortable with the word "Christ" any more. The word "Christ” narrows down the scope of Christmas. Christmas has become a festival for all, even those who neither know nor care about Jesus Christ.

Discard the nonsense of the devil. Before that recognize the nonsense of the devil.

Everyone is invited into the Kingdom of God. But will everyone respond favourably?

Children must know who their Lord is. Parents must teach children that Christmas is no mere holiday but a holy day.

I wanted to throw all the rubbish out so that God may bless me. But He blessed me even as rubbish remained in me. He used me to speak health when I still felt the symptoms of sickness. This is grace. And I will cling to it.

Ostentation is a fault. Abasement is an equal fault.

God restores everything even as I seem to do nothing. Yet there is one thing I did. I clung to Him even as He remained quiet.

God blesses me even while I struggle with my demons. This is grace. And I will cling to it.

What refuses to be made perfect, let it remain imperfect. Believe that something good may come out of your mistakes.

Don't be eager to please. Don't even want to please. Then you will be pleasing.

I need to thank God from a very deep place in my heart. And Psalm 103 gives me the right words.

Enjoy the light. Believe in the light. God is light. And His light is good and brings health. You will be well no matter what.

Like a flower bloom even for those who do not appreciate you.

Cling to God alone in your pain. Cry out to God alone for your relief. Hope in God alone for your health and salvation. Pray to God alone and believe that you have already received what you are desperately praying for. And God will not reject your pleas.

Choose to see what is good. Choose to speak words that empower. Above all believe that God is good and is doing something inexplicably good in your life. And His grace is sufficient for you every day. And one day you shall see this clearly and rejoice in it.

We are all dying and we will all certainly be dead someday barring a rapturous escape from death, but even then the corruptible about us will surely die. But today we are alive in Christ and someday we hope to be raised from the dead like Christ. So do not fear death. Fear nothing. Just believe you are more than a conqueror in Christ and that all things are possible for you with God. Even a total recovery from your dreadful condition is well within His ability. So don't be afraid, just believe. Despite the awfulness of your continual suffering, just believe.

Children do not grieve your parents today. Love those who first loved you.

Let our performance not be tied to rewards. Rather let us perform like God expecting nothing in return and only wanting to give out of love.

Anything is possible. Everything is possible to those who believe in God. We must believe that.

Don't judge. Just pray. Have pity on those whom you want to judge and pray for them.

God will have His way in us though the devil resists fiercely. God is with us all. We will remain His children no matter what.

What we need to do is to see our wretchedness without God. This is not easy for some of us. We need to see ourselves before we can see God.

Those who put faith in God should put faith in nothing else.

Keep on giving no matter what.

Don't give up on God. Keep on hoping. Keep on believing that God will answer your persistent prayer.

When a person chooses to be happy in life and is grateful to God for what he is and has, he is worshipping God in the most wonderful way.

You can't do everything in one day. You shouldn't do everything in one day.

Be grateful for what you are even if you seem like nothing.

When we look at the creations of God we should acknowledge the creative brilliance of God and convey our sincere appreciation of His loving artistry.

Jesus Christ is Lord. The day will indeed come when every knee shall bow to Him and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord.

Rejection is hard. But don't reject the one who has rejected you.

Recognize your foolishness. It will be the beginning of your humility.

Speak only as you are led to speak. Speak only what you are led to speak.

Say, "I will not be afraid" to your fears today. If God is with you no one and nothing can be against you. Just listen to God's voice speaking to your heart. Hand over your fears to Him and rest in the knowledge that God will never leave you. Just rest and let Him stir within you.

You cannot experience the joy of parenthood without also experiencing its pain.

When I was not even speaking for Jesus, someone said I would draw millions to Him. This made me act. This led me to where I am now.

When I was not even a Christian, someone said I was one. When I said that I despised all Christians he said that I was a true Christian. This made me think. This led me to where I am now.

I will not discount the possibility of an amazing miracle today and every day for God is always with me doing what is best for me.

Now I see that I am a work of God. Now I see how He has slowly but surely changed my heart. I thought that it could never happen. But it is happening now.

Let me not rejoice in being noticed by humans. Let me rejoice in being noticed by God.

In order to hate sin I had to love it to the point of revulsion.

Don't worry about it. Worry isn't going to get rid of it.

Throw something away and you will want it badly. Keep something with you and you will not even desire it.

It will happen. It will certainly happen very soon. God's purpose will be fulfilled.

You tend to desire what you do not have. But the great lesson to be learned is to desire what you do have.

When God does it nobody can stop it.

I want to take God to the godless. I want to convey my understanding of God to those who have no understanding of Him.

Admire beauty but do not hold on to it.

Those who give will receive.

A wayward, unbelieving son needs a pious, believing mother. Augustine had Monica. May every wayward son have his praying mother.

Be kind to a fool today.

This is not my work. This is God's work. So it will achieve its purpose.

God gave us life so that we may enjoy it. Let's enjoy our lives without feeling guilty.

The best way to worship God is to enjoy the life that He gave us.

Bless everyone you meet and everyone you will not meet.

Trusting in God is the greatest risk I have ever taken. It is also the best decision that I have ever taken.

The blessings of God's people are blessings from God.

Not every life turns out to be what we want it to be. But let's make the best of what we have been given and do our utmost for others. This is how we honour God.

A man who turns to people for their approval will not dare to speak against them. Such a man cannot speak for God.

Whatever doubts you or I may have regarding this matter, God doesn't doubt that I belong to Him, and in His certainty I shall rest.

I tried to run away from temptation. And it ran after me and caught up with me.

Don't give up after the fight appears to have been lost.

We will perish if we are ignorant of God's word. We will also perish if we misunderstand God's word.

We go to Christ for relief. We go to Christ because we are absolutely convinced of our destruction without Him. We cannot go to Christ without meeting these conditions.

It is only the weary and the heavy burdened who seek Christ.

To tell about Jesus Christ to those who do not want to hear about Jesus Christ is to insult Jesus Christ.

I never run with my ideas. I walk with them.

I knew God only after I knew myself.

My wiring is not yet perfect. But my lights will continue to burn.

I'm not here to teach. I'm here to learn and to share what I have learned with you.

God does seem to disappoint sometimes. God does seem to fail sometimes. But this is only what seems to us. We must believe that God will never disappoint and never fail us, even if it appears that our prayer has been rejected and our hope has been dashed to pieces. We must believe in the goodness of God and His faithfulness to us. He makes all things beautiful in His time. And He works for the good of all those who put their trust in Him. We need to be reminded of this all the time.

There are unanswered questions regarding God and His handling of the world. Those who firmly believe in God are content to know only as much as God reveals, and He seems to have left a significant gap in the information. They believe that God will remain faithful to promises despite His mysterious inaction in certain troubled times in life.

Do not want what you cannot have. And pain will be avoided. If only life were that simple.

Shun publicity and popularity and seek only God.

When you are overly cautious you may even turn God out.

God Did Something Wonderful

God did something wonderful in my life. He not only granted my mother 80 years of life, but He also gave her back a jewel that we had mortgaged earlier. A considerable amount of money had to be paid to redeem the jewel. And God made it possible for us to do that when we were desperate for a solution.

Do Not Fear Death

We are all dying and we will all certainly be dead someday barring a rapturous escape from death, but even then the corruptible about us will surely die. But today we are alive in Christ and someday we hope to be raised from the dead like Christ. So do not fear death. Fear nothing. Just believe you are more than a conqueror in Christ and that all things are possible for you with God. Even a total recovery from your dreadful condition is well within His ability. So don't be afraid, just believe. Despite the awfulness of your continual suffering, just believe.

God Did Not Abandon Me

This is my message today: "God will not abandon His people who trust in Him. If you are in desperate trouble and are crying out to God for help, He will certainly arrive to help you even if the whole world seems to be against you. I was in a seemingly impossible situation. My house owner told me to leave my house a few months ago, because of the concerted attempt of some of my neigbours to cast me and my family out of our home for no good reason. I cried out to God daily and implored Him to defend me against my enemies. And God did just that. He changed my house owner's mind and I am still living in the same house. And God gave me the grace to forgive and pray for my enemies. God is great."

From Voicelessnes To Voice

From a state of voicelessness and wordlessness I have been given a voice and words by a God who called me out of darkness into His light. So when I call myself "The Voice" I point to what God has enabled me to be, a voice, even the voice for God, speaking His truth and His message. If people see another motive behind my calling myself 'The Voice", such a perception is entirely their creation and has no relevance to how I perceive myself.

- Samuel Godfrey George

Christian Legalism

Christian legalism is not in spirit different from Jewish legalism. Christians may no longer insist on following the law of Moses. But many still adhere to a literal interpretation of the Bible, which leads to inflexible, truculent attitudes. Many intolerant, inhumane attitudes have found their origin in a narrow, unimaginative and literal reading of the biblical text, and these are imposed by Christians on fellow-believers who dare not question the authority of such "knowledgeable" brothers and sisters. But God himself cannot be codified, and his love defies human definition. If God is love, and if he loves everyone unconditionally, he is also tolerant of people and their individualities. No limitations on God's loving acceptance of all human beings may be set by anyone, particularly by means of literal and inhumane interpretations of the biblical texts.

You Cannot Believe Without Seeing

The truth that Jesus embodies must be experienced and understood, only then can Jesus become believable. The idea of believing without seeing must not be taken literally. We need to see the truth of Jesus in order to believe in him. And this is the truth: God loved the world, which was lost in sin, and the only way to save the world was by God's sacrifice of his own son, which he offered on Calvary 2000 years ago. To see the truth one must recognize the fact that one is lost in sin and can be saved only by the death of Christ. To experience the truth one must accept it and live according to it.

Should I Judge A Person Based On A Report?

There is no person in this world who is honest beyond reproach. Every one of us has been dishonest. Every one of us has been caught doing something bad, if not by others, at least by our own conscience, at least by God. Certainly God has caught us doing dishonest things. When each and every one of us is dishonest, when each and every one of us has made grave mistakes, why should we not forgive others, why should we not tolerate others? This was the question that came to me. This was the observation that I made to my people. I said, “Who is without sin? Who is without reproach? There is no one in this world.

The Question

Even today I ask myself this question: "Is this worth it? Can you go on doing this? What's in it for you?" This is how selfish I am. I just received a response from a friend on Facebook. This was a response to one of my recent videos. She said, "Thank you for the video. It was encouragement that I needed badly." This is why I do this work. I don't know who is touched by this work. I don't know sometimes whether anyone is touched. It is my hope that someone receives the information. It is my hope that someone receives my testimony, my acknowledgement of God and what he has done in my life.

It is my hope that someone receives my testimony, my acknowledgement of God and what he has done in my life. And though many times I feel that my work, or at least the work that God has inspired in me does not receive the attention that I think it deserves, though there are many times when I feel that my work is neglected, though there are many times when I feel that my voice has fallen on deaf ears, there are also times when I feel that my work matters.

I have received responses from others in the past, which affirm the effectiveness of what I am doing. But I have to ask myself a question. And I ask myself this question daily. Am I doing this work so that I will receive favourable responses? Or am I doing this work because God has put it in my heart and I have to do it no matter what the response is? There is much in my heart, which is not acceptable even to me. I'm not happy regarding my intentions many times. But I do believe that God is at work in me, and that it is he who gets me to do what I eventually do. And as long as he is in me I will not worry about what displeases me because I know that God is pleased with me, with the whole of me, with the unpleasant part of me, with the mess that I think I am. God is pleased with me as messy as I am. Thank you God.

Where The Mind Is Without Fear - Rabindranath Tagore

On Republic Day, 2014, I read Rabindranath Tagore's glorious lines about the kind of freedom that he desired for the Indian nation.

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Mary Helen Indra's Wish

At 82 my aunt Mary Helen Indra wishes for a few more years so that she may glorify her Lord Jesus more.

A Prayer For Mary

A prayer to thank God for the long life He has granted my aunt Mary Helen Indra

Happy Birthday Mary

My aunt Mary Helen Indra has completed 82 years of life.

Love The Unlovely

Whom should we love? Should we love people with dirty nails and rotten teeth? Should we love those who seem repulsive to us? Should we love those with dreaded skin diseases? Should we love lepers? Should we love beggars on the streets? Or should we love only those who seem beautiful to us? Should we love only those who seem clean to us? Should we love those who are repulsive to us in a non-physical way? Should we love those who seem hateful? Should we love those who resist and reject us? Whom should we love?

Jesus said, "Love your neighbour." Who is this neighbour? Is this neighbour a person whom I could love? Is this neighbour a person who is easy to love? What if this neighbour has rotten teeth? What if this neighbour has a repulsive disease? What if this neighbour has stinking breath? What if this neighbour is a hateful man? What if this neighbour wants to kill me? Could I love such a person? Who is my neighbour? Who is your neighbour? And why should you love your neighbour? And why should you love him as you love yourself? Isn't that what Jesus said? "Love your neighbour as you love yourself."

Jesus said in the New Testament, "Love those who are difficult to love" (a paraphrase). And the implication of that statement is this: love people whom you would not normally love. Love people whom you would walk away from. Love people whom you would avoid. Love those who seem repulsive to you. Love those who seem hateful to you. Love beggars whom you would normally avoid. Love those with skin diseases. Love those with rotten teeth and dirty nails. Love those whom you cannot stand.

Love. You cannot love in your own strength. You cannot love with what you have. And what you have is not love. But you may love with God. You may love with God in you. God is love, and when he lives in you, love lives in you and you may learn to love just as he does. It may not come quickly. It may not come easily. But it will come if you believe. Believe. Believe in God. Believe in love. And love without restraint and without stipulation. Love. Love those who are difficult to love.

- Samuel Godfrey George

God Keeps Me Going

Though I did wonder if I could go on speaking about God here I am speaking for God very early in the morning, testifying to his goodness and faithfulness.

God Helps My Unbelief

There are times when I declare one thing and feel another thing. There are times when I wonder whether I really believe in God and in the core of what he is. There are moments of doubt, but these moments don't stay for long. God has a way of bringing me back to a position of faith. God reinforces my faith somehow.

Did God Create These Flowers?

How do we know that God created anything? We don't. We just believe what we have been told. And no other explanation seems good enough to those who believe.

Shall We Give Today?

A few days ago I heard about a man who was not well. He needed immediate blood transfusion. When I heard about his immediate need I wanted to give to him. Though my financial situation was not good I decided to give to this person.

Yesterday when I met a certain friend, she gave me an unexpected gift. She felt like giving this gift to me because I had made a speech regarding the loss of her mother, when her mother passed away. I was surprised at this gift. I accepted it politely. I thanked her for her kindness. I mention this because I feel that the act of giving is good because it is something that Christ commanded us to do. We must give. We give not because we expect to receive. We give because we have already received.  I want to share this with you so that you may also consider giving if you haven't done that already. The Bible says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Shall we give today?

Disturbing Thoughts Regarding Christmas

This is the disturbing feature regarding Christmas -- that a lot of poor people are outside churches and not all of them can be helped. Why are we Christians, why are we called by Jesus Christ? Is it to wear beautiful clothes during Christmas? Is it to attend these churches that look so wonderfully decorated? Is it merely to smile at one another and wish one another that we celebrate Christmas? What about this disturbing picture outside the churches? Who are these poor people? Do we really care about them? What is our relationship with them? What do we intend to do about them? Do we give to them because we would feel better as a result of it? Is that the reason behind our giving? Do we feel better after giving? Do we feel obligated to give? Let's think about it.

The Club That I Do Not Want To Belong To

When I was much younger I wanted to be a member of a club. This was a club of wealthy people. I wanted to be a part of this community. I truly desired it. Yesterday I was at this club. I was invited by a certain friend of mine. I went there inappropriately dressed. I was not allowed to dine at this club. I understood their rules, and I even respected their rules. I left the club along with my friend. We dined in another place. And we enjoyed our afternoon together.

In a place like this club any human being dressed in a certain way is respected but it is really the dress that is respected and not the human being. I think this is a sad aspect of humanity. It is not an aspect, which we should encourage. But I do understand that clubs are exclusive, that they have rules, and many of these rules are admirable and tolerable. Maybe even this rule will seem so to others. But this rule shows to me a distinct lack of humanity if not a lack of enlightenment.

Christmas Spirit On The Harmonica

Aunt Mary Helen Indra plays Christmas tunes on her harmonica, as we say goodbye to the Christmas season.

New Year Morning Service At St.John's

A scene from the New Year's Morning Service that I attended with my mother a few days ago

The Mother Of Jesus Christ

She is the most blessed of women. Let us honour and respect the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. And may we remember her and her faith. She said, "Behold the handmaiden of the Lord! Here I am, the servant of the Lord!" This is how she received the good news that Gabriel gave her. Though it was good news, it was news that troubled her. She wondered how she could bear a child while she was still a virgin. Finally she accepted the message of God.

I Want To Reach A Place Of Nothingness

This year is about to end. Another year will begin. If I enter the New Year, this is what I desire for myself. I want to reach a place of humility. I want to reach a place of nothingness. I want to reach a place where I will understand and accept my nothingness. And I want to remain constantly aware of my nothingness.

Troubles have greatly humbled me. May they continue to humble me. May I see myself as a little person, as a little, insignificant person, who has been enabled by God to do something in this world. Let me never lose sight of that. Let me not have any good opinion of myself. Let me not consider the possibility of my own goodness. Let me not entertain the idea that I have some original ability. This is the place of nothingness that I want to reach during this New Year.

A Bible Lost And Found

My New Year didn't begin well. I discovered that I had lost a Bible that was dear to me. But I prayed to God about it and went on with my work. The next day I found my Bible. God proved wonderful again, this time on the very first day of this year.

Thanking God For This Christmas Season

God blessed me with a rich, event-filled Christmas season. And He kept trouble out of my life in answer to my prayer.

My Many Christmases

Christmas was not easy to celebrate then. Christmas is not easy to celebrate even now.

The End Of Christmas

Trouble seemed to threaten the stability of this Christmas season. But God heard my prayer and did not let this trouble destroy our peace.

I Have Served God In My Weakness

Despite my persistent weakness God has worked through me. This miracle in itself should encourage me to place more confidence in God's working in me.

New Year's Eve At Wesley Church

God gave me the opportunity to visit churches on New Year's Eve. In Wesley Church, Hyderabad, India, I give thanks to God for the years that have passed and the year that is about to come.

Prayer Before The New Year

Before the New Year began I said this prayer:

"O Lord, I'm grateful for this year, this year, which is passing away. This old year is passing away; a New Year is about to be born in our lives. Thank you for 2013. Thank you for all that we received from you. Psalm 103 begins in this way: "Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:"

O Lord, thank you for all your benefits in the year 2013. How much we have received from you! Every day is a blessing. Every moment is a blessing. Every breath is a blessing. Every day of health is a blessing. Every friend we've made, every relationship in our lives is a blessing. Every opportunity to speak about your love, every opportunity to share your message is a blessing. And you gave me so many blessings. You gave my family so many blessings during this year. Thank you very much O Lord.

And as we usher in 2014, we say to you, O Lord, "Bless this year. May this year be a year of new opportunities, new ideas, new learning, new sharing, O Lord. Thank you Lord, thank you. Thank you for the New Year. Thank you for being in us. Thank you for persisting with us despite our faults, despite our mistakes, despite our sins. You continue to be with us. You continue to give us your light. We are so grateful. Thank you Lord. Thank you for this New Year. May you bless us and may you bless all your people in the world. May you bless all your children, as they look up to you right now in prayer and ask you to guide them in the coming year. May you guide us, O great Jehovah, as you have done all our lives. In Jesus name, in the Holy Spirit, we pray. Amen."

Blessing The Lord - Psalm 103

I begin the New Year by blessing my Lord with the divine words of Psalm 103.

Along With Trouble You Will Find God

As I enter a New Year in my life I realize that troubles are still with me. Afraid as I am, I believe that along with troubles God is present. The promise of God is most obvious, is most desirable. I seek the promise of God. I trust in the promise of God, who said, "I will never leave you. I will never forsake you. I have a good plan for you, not a plan to harm you." In this I will rest today.

Our Questions Should Lead Us To The Ultimate Truth (Transcript)

How soon this year has passed! Years have passed. Thank you O Lord for the years. Thank you for this year. Thank you for the privilege of life. One is privileged to live. Human beings are the crown of God’s creations. Human beings not only live, but they also think, they also wonder. They rationalize. They come to conclusions. They believe in God. They seek God. I’m one of those human beings that seek God. And I’m grateful to be in this position.

I wrote a little while ago: “God may not view time as we do. The Roman calendar is in our consciousness. We are aware that a year is about to end. Another year is about to begin. We ask ourselves questions, ‘What have we done this year? What have we not done? What should we do in the coming year?’ Our consciousness of the passage of time is good. It makes us think about our lives and it ultimately leads us to reflect on who we really are. This is what we really are: the creations of God made to be in union with God. In this life we encounter trouble. And we suffer with weakness. But these are also what lead us to God and make us cling to him.”

At the end of a year we ask ourselves questions: “What have we done this year and in the previous years? What have we not done? What should we do in the coming year?” These questions may trouble us. They may lead us to self-analysis. They may reveal certain truths about us. But this is the truth that we must be aware of: we are the creations of God made to be in union with God. We are made to be in union with God. And if we are not united with God we will not find purpose in our lives. We will always search for purpose and we will be very sad and dejected when we do not find it. But this is our purpose: to know God, to know the one who created us, to know the one who gave us life, who gave us the privilege to live in this beautiful world, who gave us the privilege to be able to think, to be able to wonder, to be able to even ask this question: “Does God exist?”

Some of us wonder whether God exists. Do we wonder why we exist?  Do we have any doubts regarding our existence? Is our existence something that needs to be proven to us? We are certain that we exist, aren’t we? Why can we not be certain that God exists? How could we come into this world without being sent? We’ve been sent, in fact, we’ve been made by God. This year has passed. God may not view time as I do. God may not view time as people do. But the passing of a year and the beginning of another year make us consider certain basic facts concerning life. These basic facts are the most important ones. We are here for a purpose. Have we achieved that purpose? Do we know why we are here? Do we know who we really are? This, these questions should remain with us and should stir us and lead us to the ultimate truth: God.

The Scenes Will Indeed Change, So Expect God's Goodness

The New Year Message of Samuel Godfrey George, 2014:

If you are worried about your future, if you are not happy at this time, if you are worried about the New Year, if you think you have been going down steadily, and if you are worried that you will go down further in the New Year, let me say this to you: the scenes in life do change. They cannot always remain the same. And it is not necessary that a bad situation is followed by a worse situation. God may reverse, may God reverse the situation in which we find ourselves today. May God bring us relief in this difficult time. As the scenes are poised to change in our lives, let us believe that God will bring in a season of refreshment, a season of rest, a season of joy, a season of peace. Shall we do that at this time of the year?

Let us hope in God. Every New Year gives us a chance to hope, gives us an opportunity to exercise our faith. Let us exercise our faith in a positive direction. Let us exercise our faith in such a way that we believe in good things, that we expect good things, that we expect the good things of God. Let us expect his goodness, let us believe in his provision, let us trust in him and let us look to him. This is my message for this New Year. Have a blessed and secure New Year in God. Amen.

New Year's Eve At St. Mary's

New year or old year, it really doesn't matter. Thank God for every moment of your life. Be grateful that you are alive.

2013 Was A Productive Year

This (2013) has been a productive year in my life. I have done a lot of work. I have spoken for God many times. I have connected with people. I have conveyed the love of God. And this is important to me.

Our Questions Should Lead Us To The Ultimate Truth

The passing of a year and the beginning of another year make us consider certain basic facts concerning life. These basic facts are the most important ones. We are here for a purpose. Have we achieved that purpose? Do we know why we are here? Do we know who we really are? This, these questions should remain with us and should stir us and lead us to the ultimate truth: God.

A New Year With No Fear

My security is in God. The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want courage. He has guided me all these years and He will guide me in the coming years.

Our security lies in God. Our security lies in His presence. And as long as He is with us, we will want nothing.

When Friends Die Before Knowing Jesus Christ

Many of us fail to tell others about Jesus Christ. And someday it is too late for some of them. It is too late for us to tell some people about Christ because they pass away without hearing about Him. But we must endeavour to tell people as tactfully as possible about the Lord Jesus Christ and the importance of committing to Him entirely and believing in Him entirely. We are saved. And that's not enough. We must think about other people's salvation as well. There are others out there who need to hear about Christ.

How do we worship God?

Many people go to church to worship God. Denominational differences in Christianity may involve different styles of worship. But what ...
