The New Year Message of Samuel Godfrey George, 2013 : Let us not judge 2013 by appearances. If we do so it could be perceived as unluckier than 2012 as it has a "13" in it. But the truth may be that 2013 is a better year than its predecessor. Let God alone know what the troubled years of our lives will be.

Guns And Control
It is time for the USA to review its policy concerning guns. Though it may be argued that guns are not the problem and certain people who use them are, it is best not to make an offensive weapon like the gun available to those people who do not show judgement and restraint. Though a control on the use of guns may affect the responsible citizen's right to possess firearms it is unavoidable to ensure the safety of unprotected and innocent citizens.
Samuel Godfrey George considers the case.

21 December 2012 - The World Will Not End
Have the ancient Mayans truly indicated that the world will end on 21 December 2012? Should people fear the end of days at this time? What is the Christian position on this issue? What does Jesus Christ, the Son of God have to say about the end times? Samuel Godfrey George discusses the issue.
Throughout The Storm - Samuel Godfrey George
God is great. God is good. And God is in control of my life. This I will believe and declare throughout the storm.
Doomsday 2012 - What are you so afraid of?
What is the greatest disaster that will mark the end of the world? Is it the loss of human life? Is it the massive and unprecedented wreckage of this beautiful world? Why are some human beings afraid of an impending doomsday? The world will certainly end some day, according to many religious faiths and civilizations. Whether the world ends in December 2012 or later is not something that anyone can predict accurately. Some people in the world are preoccupied by thoughts of the end and are actively discussing the various disaster scenarios. The physical end of all human life is indeed a terrible outcome. But there is something even more terrible.
In the act of fearing the abrupt and disastrous end of his physical life, Man has paid little or no attention to his spiritual well-being. There is a spirit within Man that will outlive his destroyed body. And the spirit must merge with the Great Eternal Spirit, who is God, in order for it to live eternally. This can happen only if Man connects with God by seeking him and living for him. Man must turn away from self and focus on the eternal. If Man fails to connect with God through either disbelief or disobedience he will most certainly perish both physically and spiritually. There is little hope for such a man even if doomsday does not happen in his lifetime.

Don't take the Christ out of Christmas - SGG
Samuel Godfrey George on Christmas:
What is the significance of the birth of Christ to the people of Christ? Do they not already know that Christ was born, that He lived in this world and that He died a cruel death to atone for the sins of the many generations of Man? The man Christ has come and gone. What He came to do in the world was accomplished when He was nailed to the cross. The people whom He came to save were saved provided they accepted the supreme sacrifice of their Lord and the One Who sent Him to them. Now Christ has returned to His glory, and His salvation is not received without effort. Whoever desires the salvation of Christ, and whoever wishes to inherit the Kingdom of God must accept Christ as his Lord and Saviour, and the One who sent Him to us. And the One who sent Him to save us is His Father, Jehovah the Almighty. And one cannot accept either without the help of another, the Spirit of the Most High who resides in the heart of every believer. One must accept the Lord in His three forms, Father, Son and the Holy Spirit in order to receive salvation.
So what do the people of Christ seek to gain in the acknowledgement of the birth of Christ? The birth of Christ signifies the birth of spiritual life and the end of spiritual death. It is the supreme act of love of a Creator for His creation. So the coming of Christ into this world is an occasion for joy and hope to the one in pursuit of God. Remembering the birth of Christ is thus remembering the salvation that is promised through Christ.
Christmas is the time to celebrate the birth of hope for a generation without hope. It is the time for Man to receive the love of His God. And the love of God is Christ. Let not the believer in Christ take the Christ out of Christmas.

You Cannot Abolish God, You Cannot Abolish Religion
Despite the spirited work of antitheists and atheists, religion cannot be abolished and the worship of God cannot be abolished. The force of religion and God is beyond the power of science and disbelief and cannot be dismantled by the world union of unbelievers. This is a struggle between unequal forces.

Stains
If we were as concerned about what goes on inside our minds and hearts as we are concerned about what goes on outside us, we will certainly grow spiritually. I am concerned about the stains on the physical walls of my home. But I don't seem equally disturbed by the marks on my psychological and spiritual walls left by my sinful thoughts and deeds. In me and many people there is the tendency to focus on the exterior and overlook the interior.

Treating The Immature In The Godly Way
How do I deal with a young assistant who is immature and irresponsible but possesses a good heart? Should I, a believer in the God of the Bible, not approach the problem of this erring assistant as God approached his recalcitrant people Israel? Should I not learn from God's example of forgiveness and love? Did not God indeed love the whole undeserving world so much that he sent us the sacrificial gift of his only begotten son, Jesus Christ?
Birth Of Jesus Christ - Matthew 1: 18-25
In my fourth Bible reading in this season of Advent, I read Matthew's account of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Morning Thoughts
What leads us to doubt God and his word? What makes us believe in man more than we believe in God? The readiness to trust God diminishes with age and directly correlates with the increase of knowledge. What I emphasize in my public appearances is the difficulty that I experience in my faith in God.
What Christmas Should Not Be
Christmas should not be about idle merriment and useless pleasures. It should be a serious time of contemplation of God's supreme gift of love to humankind.
Jesus: The Sublime Expression of God's Love
The Christmas Day Message of Samuel Godfrey George, 2010:
What God created He could destroy. God created Man. Man disappointed God. God could have destroyed Man. Yet God did not destroy Man. He allowed him to live. Man lived, yet was separated from God because of his sins. Man was destined to go to hell. But God did not want Man to go to hell. Therefore God decided to change the fate of Man. And Man's fate could change only when he atoned for his sins. The only atonement that could meet God's requirement was the death of a righteous man. But a righteous man could not be found on earth. So God had to send that righteous man from heaven. His name was Jesus. He was the Son of God and He became human in order to be the atonement for the sins of Man. The Son of God is as much God as are the Father and the Holy Spirit, the other members of the Trinity. Thus God came down to earth to be born as the sinless man who would atone for Man's sins. He did this because He loved Man and did not want to see Him destroyed. Thus Jesus Christ is the expression of God's love.
Jesus, the human form of God, was born in Bethlehem in a humble manner. He was born in a stable for no other place could be found. The first people who heard about His birth were poor shepherds. Joseph, the human adoptive father of Jesus was a carpenter, and he and his wife Mary were ordinary people. Jesus grew up to be a carpenter like Joseph. The birth and the life of Christ highlight God's preference for the poor and the humble. God cares for the poor and has declared that the first will be the last, and the last will be the first in the Kingdom of God. Those who intend to follow God must therefore desire to be humble and poor. They must willingly be servants, for Christ has declared that the greatest in the Kingdom of God will be the servant of all.
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. And Christ is the sublime expression of God's love. Let those who celebrate Christmas bear this in mind. This Christmas let the focus be on the manner in which Jesus came into this world. Let His humble beginning in a stable in Bethlehem inspire us to prefer the humble and shun the lofty. Let us aspire to be ministers of God ministering to the people of God just as Jesus came into the world to minister to all of us. The birth of Christ should be celebrated as God's splendid expression of love for a people who do not deserve it.

21st December 2012
Humans have always tried to predict the end times and have always failed. This time in 2012 I learn that even experts believe that some earth-altering event will take place on 21st December 2012. What I believe is that 2012 will eventually prove the quality of these experts and that it is pointless for anyone to calculate the end of days. As the Bible claims, no one knows the exact date of the return of Christ, which is the Day of the Lord. Not even the Son of God knows, but only God the Father knows and He is unlikely to tell. All that we humans know are the signs of the end, and even they can be debated.
Desperation in Faith - Saying of Samuel Godfrey George
There
was a time when I let ridiculous people pray for me. At a time of
desperate need I sought those whom I would not normally seek and asked
them to pray for me. Fear ruled my soul and my rationality was
completely suppressed. I read the Bible desperately and recited verses
feverishly. I tore down my altars and cried many tears. I even met some
despicable people and apologized to them for my own callousness. Indeed
there is nothing as devastating to a man's stability as a period of
grave illness and severe trials. In better times all these acts are
simply not forthcoming.
Regardings Clerics - Saying of Samuel Godfrey George
I
have little respect for the clergy. I see them as weak and ineffective
and uninformed. However I know that not all clerics are like that. Yet
this is the overall impression. Recently I met one who flaunted his
status at me and told me not to photograph myself in his church. He
asked me a ridiculous question regarding the purpose of my taking these
photographs. When he could not gain anything from this, he finally said
that I was disturbing those around me. There were only a few around me
and I was not disturbing them. So I told him that I found him
overprotective and he simply left without another word.
A Secular Christmas Versus A Spiritual Christmas
There are at least two ways of celebrating Christmas. One is to take Christ out of it. The other is to focus on Christ in it.
A Christmas Prayer for the Suffering
This Christmas not all people will be well. Some will be sick and in hospital. Some will be poor and unable to celebrate Christmas like others. As I am healthy and able to celebrate Christmas, this is my prayer for those people who are not healthy and who are in need.

We Barbarians Need God
If the Bible seems barbaric it is so because it was written for barbarians. And we, human beings, in this drastically advanced modern age of science and technology, are at heart the same kind of barbarians that the Bible was intended for.

The Sayings of Samuel Godfrey George - November 2012
Trust in God alone and in His strength
alone be confident.
Whenever trouble is
near God is nearer. I have realized this today after all the trouble that I
have been through in God's strength. I know now that God has led me through
many difficulties and helped me face many challenges. Whatever the latest
difficulty is I know that I am more than equal to the challenge because Christ
is in me and the protection of God is over my life. I SHALL NOT FEAR. The more
I know God and His ways the less I fear the threats that I am likely to face in
my life.
Today whatever
happens I know that God is with me. The power of the Lord Jesus Christ is here
with me. I shall no longer fear what is to come. Where God is there is no place
for fear and uncertainty. Whenever trouble is near God is nearer.
God wants his
people to "arrive" at happiness. But no one can arrive at happiness
without travelling the perilous road of risk, loss, misfortune and unhappiness.
God wants his people to "arrive" at courage. But no one can arrive at
courage without travelling the terrible road of phobia, paranoia and terror.
God wants his people to arrive at "purity". But no one can arrive at
purity without living a life of impurity and immorality. These are the facts.
"Desire"
and "fear" are the two human attributes that the devil has
exceedingly exploited to subjugate the human race in his defiance against God.
Along with sin
comes fear, the fear of God, the fear of the devil and the fear of Man. Sin by
its very nature and definition as a rebellion against God evokes thoughts of
punishment if not in the hands of God at least in the hands of the Devil or in
the hands of one's fellow men.
Those who say that
God uses scare tactics to bring people to him are not wrong. God in his written
word does uses frightening images of hell and eternal punishment to motivate
people to desire righteousness. I find modern conceptions of God as "all
love and no hate" particularly divergent from the images that I derive
from the Bible. God who is portrayed as loving and compassionate is also
equally portrayed as a God who hates evil and evildoers and who will not flinch
from the task of sending them to hell, the pit of fire kindled by his wrath.
Nevertheless as a Christ follower I see beyond the scare tactics, which are
certainly necessary and are not tactics at all for they constitute a terrible
reality, at the loving salvation God offers to the human race that is doomed to
self-destruction. Thus what scares others actually draws me to God.
Those who hate the
concept of hell and the scare tactics of God should consider this: a certain
elemental fear of punishment is the most powerful reason that keeps Man from
doing wrong. Even on earth there is a shadow of hell, the prison where
criminals are kept. If prisons did not exist and punishments were not handed
out, people cannot be restrained to behave the way they do. If there is any law
and order on earth today, it is because of the threat of punishment, which is a
shadow of the supreme threat of God.
Hell may be seen as the
worst argument used by God to bring people to him. It may also be seen as the best, for
"the fear of hell" underpins the human effort to approach God. No
one wants to go to hell, especially the hell that the Bible
describes. But "hell" is also the reason why some people hate and
avoid God. He is seen as an evil tyrant in the sky, who bullies people into
liking and worshipping him, with the threat of an everlasting life of horror in
hell. This feeling above all feelings brings about a seemingly insurmountable
barrier between Man and God.
A book that I read
recently claims that heaven is very different from what human beings conceive
it to be. According to the author who was supernaturally transported to heaven
many times, there are cinemas and recreation parks in heaven. And there are
many more earth-like places that exceed earthly beauty in a supernatural
measure. After all earth is a shadow of heaven, the book insists. I once read
the atheist, Christopher Hitchens who wrote that Christianity never made a
compelling case for heaven, ie., heaven didn't seem compelling enough for
someone to desire to go there. After reading Kat Kerr's account of heaven, I
feel that the people who are not drawn to heaven "may not" radically
alter their opinions. Even if all means of entertainment are available in
heaven, and God's presence is all-pervading, and opportunities for supernatural
feats are always open to human beings along with an eternal life of
immeasurable joy, these still do not argue favourably for heaven, especially to
those who inherently dislike God and all that he stands for.
The idea of
worshipping God all the time in heaven is the reason why some people are not
drawn to the idea of a heaven. It seems like the most boring thing to do. It
also seems like a terrible thing to do. Who would want to live such a life, to
be subject to a dictator like God? Even on earth God is disliked because he is
viewed as a dictator who wants all that a human can offer, especially every
aspect of his fun life.
If you take every
little job seriously, if you do your best in every little thing, if you do your
utmost to glorify God when no one notices, could God ask for more, and should
you still be in doubt?
An honest atheist
is better than a hypocritical Christian. Jesus will walk with that atheist and
not with that Christian.
This morning I
awoke with this question: "God, are you really with me? Am I in agreement
with you? Or am I working alone?". And moments later I had this
realization: "If I am working alone, then I must be an amazingly
self-inspired person to do all that I have done and travelled as long as I have
gone. Indeed I could never have willed myself to have done these before."
But this realization soon enough faded away in probability.
There is a certain
path that needs to be taken. There are certain things that must be cast away.
There is a certain waiting that needs to be endured. And then that day will
come.
Today I can go back
or move forward. How much do I love myself today?
If it were all
clear it will not require faith.
If others celebrate
me but I don't celebrate myself it won't be much of a party.
Right now this is
my plan. I will read books and celebrate my successes. They are many (both books and successes).
One of the biggest
mistakes we can make is to speak too soon. We speak too soon because we arrive
at a conclusion too soon. Let us cultivate the habit of thinking about
something and thinking about it again and again until we know what we are
dealing with. And then let us speak slowly.
You should not like
something because somebody else likes it. But you should like something only
because you like it. Don't try to like something because you wish to identify
with another person or because you want to please another person if you really
don't like that particular thing. Be true to yourself and boldly like and
dislike and express your genuine nature.
In the confusion
and the unrest, even as you speak meaningfully and meaninglessly, let your eyes
remain fixed on God and let your mind be occupied only with his truth and let
your ears be ready for his message.
Whenever I scratch
somebody's back my own back is not neglected. So when I need a scratch I just
extend my hand and scratch away.
These days before I
do anything I have learned to ask, "Why am I about to do this?" God
examines the motives of the heart. Though I am not God and distinctly lack his
acuity I will still attempt to study the motivations of my deceptive heart.
God has a way of
accomplishing His work. No man-made programme is required to harness the
power of God. All that it takes is trust and surrender. A man must desire to
change and must realize that only God can change him. He must allow God to work
and must trust Him to complete the work. The rest is a matter of waiting and
receiving.
It is a Christian
duty to honour one's elected rulers and submit to them. Let no Christian forget
this. There may well be exceptions to the rule. But resistance must be weighed
very carefully and after much prayer.
Our trust should
only be in God. That is why God sometimes puts us in a lonely place so that we
have nowhere to run but to Him. When that happens it is scary, but we surely
gain from the experience.
Even the tiniest
crack can let in the foulest air.
We define ourselves
by what we speak and we distinguish ourselves by the way we speak.
Today I heard from
a boy who claimed to have seen a dead girl on a nearby university campus along
with many curious onlookers. The newspaper reported this incident as the death
of a male student. I asked my witness if he was sure that the deceased was a
female and not really a male. He said that he saw with his own eyes that it was
indeed a girl who had died. Later today when confronted with the truth that it was certainly a boy who had died, the boy finally
admitted that he could be wrong, saying that he was led to believe that the
deceased was a girl because everyone had claimed so. This incident clearly
indicates to me how even our strongest impressions and our so-called realities
could turn out to be deceptions and errors.
Theoretically there
are as many interpretations of a text as there are those who are willing to
interpret it. Each one understands a text uniquely. And no one person can claim
to understand a text more correctly than the other.
At first I thought that this was a competition - this job of serving the Lord. Now I know that no one can compete with anyone in this task. Each one must do his part as God commands him to. Each one has a task that no one else can do.
Jealousy can make
the prettiest person monstrously ugly.
Obedience to the
parent - who has perfectly obeyed his parents all the time? Are parents so
decidedly correct about everything that they should be obeyed all the time?
There are some dreadful parents in the world who have horribly abused their
children. How could a perfect God expect the children of such parents to fulfil
this commandment? Every commandment of God must be understood contextually and
not absolutely. There is no one in the world who has ever fulfilled a
commandment of God absolutely.
God's commandments
are graded. The greatest commandments are always more important than the lesser
ones. One is obliged to obey all commandments. But the truth is that one cannot
obey all commandments. The genuine truth is that one may not even obey a single
commandment without the help of God. God alone can fulfil His requirements.
That is why a God follower is required to be a Christ follower and allow Christ
to live in him. Only Christ living in him can fulfil the requirements of God's
law.
Obedience to God
supersedes obedience to any parent.
I have what it
takes to stop the offensive thought. We who have Christ in us have the strength
to halt the offensive thought at the threshold of our minds. We can order every
offensive intent out of our consciousness. We can refuse to think immorally.
This is how we are more than conquerors in Christ. This is the truth. The
question that remains then is this: "Do we want to be conquerors today? Or
will we let ourselves be conquered again?"
It takes fresh eyes
to see the beauty of a neglected thing. Blessed are fresh eyes.
In these days of
scarcity I have learned to speak to myself like this. When I want to buy
something I ask myself, "Do I really need this? If I don't, will I not put
my money to better use by giving to someone who really needs it? Is it not
better to help someone in real need than to spend the money to please myself,
especially when the pleasure I seek is not necessary?"
To speak the truth
as you see it - that is a virtue.
The most beautiful
person is the one who admits that he is wrong and is willing to change.
Cast away your little-mindedness and put on the love that accepts all people, especially those whom you naturally dislike and distrust. In this alone are strength and salvation. And this is the love of Christ.
I wish that my road
was smooth. But it is not smooth. I wish that my head was clean. But it is not
clean. I wish that my heart was pure. But it is not pure. But I have to deal
with the conflict that I feel in all these places. For that is the nature of my
calling.
Endeavour to see
the right when the wrong is dancing in your eyes. Struggle to think the right
when the wrong runs riot in your mind. Don't ever give up the fight to see and
to think right. It's a fight that will keep you standing in the end.
Freedom is all
about control. If you can control your impulses you are indeed free.
The Way of Jesus is
the way of love. One cannot know the Way of Jesus without knowing Jesus. And to
know Jesus is to know and experience the love of Jesus. It is the love that
dares to be rejected and trampled like dirt. Those who have no knowledge and
experience of this cannot go to God, for Jesus Himself said that no one comes
to the Father except through Him.
Don't do anything
out of boredom. When you are bored pray for inspiration and do a good thing
preferably for another.
Troubles refine and
strengthen a person. These days I have learned to say, "welcome" to
troubles.
I am now prepared
to speak the message any number of times, and I shall speak it until I am
heard, or until I can speak no more. For this is my calling - to speak for my
God always as long as there is a voice in me.
Don't be eager to
move ahead in this world. Be content to stay back as far as possible. Do not
desire wealth or fame or position. Seek only God. Desire only his humility.
There is nothing
like the truth. Even the worst truths add to your health.
Every loose and
untrue thing that comes from your lips mars your own truth and inner life.
I cannot and will
not attempt to deserve anything that God has given me directly or through
someone else. It is hopeless and foolish to try to deserve something that God
has freely and graciously given. But I will certainly try to please God by
letting Him change me into whatever He likes. Just doing that fulfils my
purpose for being here in this world.
Certain private
joys seem harmless as long as they remain private. But even in the mind they
corrode and corrupt the soul and separate it from a life of knowing and living
in the truth that is God.
If the world is
sane, then Jesus is crazy. And we who follow Christ are fools for Christ's sake.
When things don't
go well one assumes that something must be wrong. This work for God that I am
involved in has not risen to expectations. But even this assessment is only
partial. There are aspects of my work and me that have clearly exceeded
expectations. In a situation like this the best course of action is to stand
and wait, for the plans of heaven are not viewable on earth. And God always
places his workers on a path of suffering and even waiting. I believe that I am
in this category.
Opposites are
always necessary.
To dislike what you
like - that is the great lesson in life.
A profound thought
is only for a profound moment.
When I worry I
waste time and energy. Instead of worrying I could do something good that would
bring benefit to my life or to another person's life.
Nothing is purely
beautiful. Everything beautiful on this earth has an ugly element. In the
business of loving human beings, one must be prepared to receive from the
ugliness of the heart besides receiving from its beauty.
I thought God would
free me and that I would be free forever. I didn't realize that any freedom
that I could experience was only in His strength and that I would have to
exercise His strength every day. And so every day is a struggle, and the more I
know what I have to do, the better I am at doing it.
I thank God for
every mistake I have learned from.
Learning to be
still is the hardest of all tasks. To be still when nothing happens, when
something in you is yearning to make something happen, that is the hardest of
all tasks.
My need to know God
exceeds every other need. And so I have put a halt to my worldly life in order to know
Him. And knowing Him will save me in the ultimate sense.
There was a time
when I had to have everything, even the little thing. Now after letting Christ
work in me over a period of years I have learned to deny myself the little
things. And I know that there will come a time when I will deny myself the big
things. I know now that the denial of self is incremental and will last all my
earthly life.
My goal is
this: as long as I am alive and am able, I will do whatever I can to bring out
the good in me, as a tribute to God who points me to the good and for the benefit of
those in the world who may need my good.
The numbers do not
matter. The heart alone matters.
A relationship begins with a simple smile.
When nothing
happens I remember everything that has happened.
In every man there
is pride and resistance to authority. Those who cannot bow down to God are
people who cannot break out of this mould.
Let there be an
excruciating wait. Oh let there be.
Let me be grateful
for every little bite I have to eat. Let me thank God for every moment, for
every joy, for every sorrow, for every lesson, for every blessing. I'm alive now. I can still breathe,
feel and think. I can still thank.
My beautiful
offering to God today is a grateful heart. Oh let me never weary of giving thanks!
You cannot discard
anything without the grace to do so. The ability to shun evil and choose good
is a gift from God and comes only to those who humbly wait in the knowledge
that only God can grant their need. And God will grant their need exactly when
and how he chooses to.
It will take a
fresh day and a fresh approach to do something more with a grateful heart.
Anyone can feel
fine when everything is going well. But he who feels fine particularly when not
everything is well is the exceptional man.
If I still draw
attention to myself I have learned nothing.
Do nothing
uninspired. Even a hopeless act has some hope if you are inspired.
To accept God's
will when it goes against your own will is the greatest feat in enlightenment.
In the life of
faith there is little or no room for worry. When you trust in God there is no
reason to worry about anything else. There is certainly no reason to worry
about the horrible guilt that ensues from the feeling of unworthiness and
unrighteousness that God in His ultimate goodness and righteousness always
effects. It is the intention of God to show a man the depth of his depravity.
But it is not His intention to make that man miserable about it. The knowledge
of evil must drive one to seek God and not to run away from Him.
"That day is
not coming" says a voice in my head. "That day is surely
coming!" I retort. And I walk on.
Nothing satisfies
my thirst as much as plain water. Nothing satisfies my soul as much as the
plain truth - the truth that the human being is incomplete and to be complete
he needs God.
You'll have to say
it wrong before you can say it right.
There may be an
element of wisdom in what the idiot speaks.
This is the truth:
it is humility that God is driving a man to. It is pride that a man is seeking
to enlarge. And this is the source of all resistance to God.
A thankful heart is a most necessary thing in the worship of God.
Let the Children of Christ Come Forward - SGG
The Christmas message of Samuel Godfrey George, 2009:
"Children of Christ, come forward and celebrate the birth of your Lord and King. He gives you hope when there is only despair, peace when there is only war and joy when there is only sorrow. In Him you will find lasting wealth, ultimate meaning and incorruptible beauty. May you find Him this Christmas. May Christ be born in you."

The Birth of John the Baptist Foretold (Luke 1:5-25)
My first Bible reading in this season of advent concerns the one who came before Christ to make straight paths for the Lord. He is John the Baptist.

Prayer Requests
To be asked to pray for others is a great privilege. It is one that I do not intend to take lightly.
Doing The Right Wrong - Saying of Samuel Godfrey George
Do
it wrong till you do it right. Just remember this: when you are doing
something good wrong know that you are not doing it right. Endeavour to
do it right even as you are doing it wrong. Believe in your power and
believe in a higher power. And believe that you will do it right
someday.

The Bible On Homosexuality
Homosexuality is not a matter of choice. It is a part of human nature. It cannot be cast away in human strength. If it can be cast away and if a homosexual can truly embrace heterosexuality it can be only a feat of divine strength.
Love Beyond Divisions
Race, nationality, education, culture, even religion - nothing matters as much as loving one another with the love of God.
The Devil In Me - Sayings of Samuel Godfrey George
Am I really a man of God? Why am I not carrying the Bible with me when I'm in front of a camera, and why am I not barking out verses at everyone like a mad dog? This is indeed a grave matter.
God speaks through his people but maybe not as much as the Devil speaks through his.
Am I praising God or sucking up to God? This is a question which every God believer must ask of himself every day.
Don't overestimate the stupidity of others. Always watch your step.
The safe way is ridiculous. The discreet way is much better.
If I do all this for a few human claps I am the most pitiable of men.
How wonderful it is when I am not even noticed! Oh but I am! Nothing ever goes unnoticed.
Facebook is where I get in touch with the devil in me.

Devious Roads - Saying of Samuel Godfrey George
There are some devious roads. They are not devious by themselves. But those who travel in these roads may have devious intentions. Some actually take these roads believing that they will have control over their twisted desires, but the distractions available on the road soon overwhelm their feeble resistance." Avoid the devious roads" seems the most sensible instruction. But the truth is that all roads contain a devious element. Some roads contain too many. The mind of the traveller must be guarded at all times. And knowledge of the ultimate kind is the only guardian.

Not A Pleasant Business
The business of being good and kind to others is not pleasant. There is much resistance to goodness and kindness in this world. What is really surprising is that the recipients of one's goodness and kindness are the very ones who resist.
From The Beautiful Body To The Creator God
Those who are in the grip of excessive sexual attraction tend to fantasize about the people they desire. An attraction to the physical form of a human being who is not one's spouse can lead to adultery and separation from God. The way to eliminate this sexual sin is to look beyond the physical attraction to the author of the physical form that one longs for. The love of the physical form should be converted into admiration for the Creator of that form. Sexual attraction to another human being must be converted into worship of God, the author of all beauty.

Recent Thoughts On A Christian Meeting - Sayings of SGG
If heaven was a place like the Christian meeting that I attended today, it will be a great strain on my eardrums. I hope there is a place for calm and gentle worship in heaven.
Today I was in a shouting Christian meeting. Everyone was shouting. Even one of the singers confessed that he was about to shout a song. People were clapping with great energy. I sat there without clapping enduring the onslaught on my eardrums. Today it all seemed silly, especially my presence in such a place. Even a Muslim that sat next to me seemed unimpressed by the excessive shouting. The kind of worship that I do seemed totally out of place in this extreme Christian environment. Given the mass appeal of this hysterical kind of worship I can understand why my sober approach has so little appeal.
To love people is a hard requirement. I find many people unlovable. Many that I have met are ungrateful and unfeeling. Today I discovered how odd I felt at a Christian meeting. I am not drawn to Christians. In fact I am not drawn to any person with a religious affiliation. Religion still does not seem a terribly enlightened activity. Given these natural disinclinations I wonder why I am involved in the work of Jesus Christ. It is not something I should do, yet I do it. Loving people is something I should do, yet I am not doing it. Still it is not a goal that I am willing to discard any time soon.

Once
I was drawn to Benny Hinn, the evangelist. These days I am not familiar
with his work. However I decided to attend a Christian meeting that he
was expected to speak at in India today. I took my elderly aunt with me
in the expectation of something wonderful. Sadly the place where the
meeting was held was so poorly located and the gathering itself was
treated to some unpleasantly loud music which seemed to be generally
appreciated. The last disappointment was that Benny Hinn was not even
there. I was later informed that he had cancelled his visit. It seemed
like a total waste of time and money and a great strain on my elderly
aunt.

Does Christ care about Christmas?
Does Christ care about the details of Christmas celebrations? Does he not really care about something else far more important?
Christmas with Sam
This year Christmas is special to me. I have been through many trials and much suffering. Even now I'm going through a trial. However I am grateful to be alive and to be able to glorify God with my voice. God has been good to me.
Be Still And Know That I Am God
I will not be afraid. I stand before my Lord in the knowledge that He is God. He will take care of me and guide me in the path of truth.
I don't feel clean within
It is the presence of God within you that makes you aware of your uncleanness.
On dealing with a bad attitude
How should the representative of God deal with someone with a bad attitude?
I Am The Voice
I have begun to knock on people’s doors.
And the question has been asked more than once.
“Who are you?”
"I am The Voice."
WHO IS THE VOICE?
Is he the self-made man that he once claimed to be? Or is he the work of hands far superior to his own?
Is his voice his own? Are his thoughts the product of his mind?
Is his mind as noble as his thoughts? Does his love come from his heart?
Or does Someone live within him? Is He the mind of his thoughts? Is He the heart of his love? Is He the breath of his voice?
This is the BELIEF of the man who calls himself The Voice: I saw Him as a blazing train of fire in a childhood dream, and I pledged my servitude to Him in a language that I did not know then, but learned to speak later. I did not even know who He was. Yet I must have known deep within that He is the Lord.
For years I walked in darkness, not knowing my Master. I served another who was opposed to Him. I betrayed my Lord, and lay in the arms of His sworn enemy. I savoured the bliss of Hell.
But the Lord will not be cheated of His bride. He came for me, yet did not seize me instantly. He laid a divine finger on me, and delivered a deadly blow to the evil within my soul. The demons that ruled me could never recover from this, and slowly and painfully they crumbled to defeat.
Now the Lord has me firmly in His grip. Even as hellfire rages just outside my courtyard, He whispers His hope into my ears, and strengthens my will to fight. The Devil is still around.
The Lord gave me my mission. It is not to fight the powers of darkness only for my own sake, but also for the sake of others. So He empowered my voice, filled it with His own breath, and set ablaze the message that His love commands me to deliver to a people indifferent to and distanced from their Lord.
So here I come to the one who is willing to accept my love and hear my voice. I am Samuel Godfrey George. I am The Voice.
And the question has been asked more than once.

The Road To Sanity
What is in a smile? What is in a sneer? What special joy lies in
applause? What terrible misery lies in censure? What are hard times?
What are good times?
When I smile, do I rejoice? When I weep, do I grieve? When I embrace, do I love? When I spurn, do I hate? When I speak, do I believe? And when I believe, do I speak?
Is unblemished happiness ever found? Is misery ever experienced in its completeness? Does company ever dispel loneliness? In loneliness can one not find company?
Is family only a blessing? Is orphanhood only a curse? Is love ever guaranteed? Is loyalty ever certified? Do parents only give? Do children only love? Will a brother never strike? Will a friend never betray?
Are the evil without good? Are the good without evil? Are those who condemn without blame? Can the condemned not blame?
Are the ones who seek unity undivided? Are the divisive disunited?
Does nakedness reveal shame? Do clothes conceal it? Can silence conceal the guilt within? Does the ritual mirror the passion within?
Should the Lord not consort with prostitutes? Should the believer not sleep with the Devil? Can one reach the destination even before the journey?
How long will the Creator suffer the mockery of his creation? How long will the Father wait for his prodigal son?
Does the Creator only create? Does the Giver only give? Does the Lover only love?
Will the voice only speak? Silence is the beginning of the voice. Silence is the end of the voice.

The Voice Responds : Am I building a house?
The Question : Why are you selling your articles? Are you building a new house?
The Answer : Yes I am building a house. But it is a different kind of house. I have chosen to build a spiritual house. I have abandoned the tasks of the world to do this job for God. I do not work in the world and earn a salary. I need to sustain myself and my family as I continue to devote myself to God. So I need to sell the articles in my earthly house to build my heavenly house.

The Voice Responds : "Does everything happen for a reason?"
The Question : Does everything happen for a reason?
The Answer : The answer is simple if you know it and not simple if you do not know it. A man or woman who walks by faith and believes in the will of God has to admit that everything in life does have a purpose, and that that purpose is not always revealed to the believer. Whether one is a believer or not, it is wise not to search for the purpose that is hidden or mysterious, as there is a limit to human understanding and wisdom.
The answer to your question is yes. Everything in life happens for a reason, and sometimes the reason is plain and at other times it eludes understanding. When the reason cannot be known, it is wise not to apprehend it through human understanding. What is meant to be revealed will be revealed not in the flesh but in the Spirit.

The Voice Responds : Did I ever hate God?
The Question : Did you ever hate or give up on God?
The Answer : No, I have never given up, and will never give up on God. Life is difficult but not impossible. Faith in God is not for quitters. I've had my share of desperate moments. But the Lord would not let me go. And as I grow in understanding, the chances of my slipping seem more unlikely than ever. Yet I remain cautious in prayer.
There was a time when I did not care about God. But now I will never hate God for anything. The privilege to do anything comes from Him. In fact I can never love Him enough for His kindness to me.
As far as others are concerned, I love them regardless of what they feel for me. When I am tempted to hate (and that happens often), I pray for divine help, as that is the only way out of bitterness. There can be no hope of God's forgiveness if I cannot forgive.
Trusting in God is the only way out of the hell we create in our own lives. When a man is in trouble let him pray.

The Voice Responds : Whom do I serve?
The Question : Do you really serve the Lord Jesus Christ? Who is your master?
The Answer : If a man had a single master, then he will not be in conflict. If a man could believe in Jesus Christ without the slightest degree of doubt, then there will be no inner struggle between darkness and light. I am a child of conflict and struggle. Does that now make me a man who serves two masters or a disbeliever in Christ? My voice has spoken for the sake of the Divine One to magnify His glory in response to His command. I call Him my Lord Christ.

The Question : Samuel, the way you put to the person who says there
is no God was great. How would you explain being saved (or not) then?
The same way? If it is revealed to him/her (or not)? Being saved comes
from the urge of the person requesting it from the Savior, Jesus Christ
our Lord or must it be a nudge by The Lord to the person. Must the
person be led to be saved?
The Answer: The salvation of God is for all and yet not for all. Not all will be saved. Not all can be saved.
Though human instruments are involved in the process of salvation, men do not lead those who are led to their salvation. God leads them as God has preordained them to belong to Him.
Those who "are saved" believe that they are saved. The only authority that can certify their salvation is God.
What remains is the consciousness of salvation in the mind of the believer. Salvation is the promise made by God to those who belong to God. Those who belong to God are known only to God. They believe in the promise of God, so they believe that they are saved.

The Lost Son (The Parable of the Prodigal Son)
The best story Jesus Christ ever told, this is the story of a forgiving father and a wayward son. From Eugene Peterson's paraphrase of the Bible, "The Message"
I'm Losing, But . . .
I may have lost a few things in my life but I have not lost my faith in Jesus Christ, my Lord and my God.
John Dryden - Shadwell
One poet attacks another - John Dryden's vicious attack on Thomas Shadwell is read by Samuel Godfrey George
All human things are subject to decay,
And when fate summons, monarchs must obey.
This Flecknoe found, who, like Augustus, young
Was call'd to empire, and had govern'd long;
In prose and verse, was own'd, without dispute,
Through all the realms of Nonsense, absolute.
This aged prince, now flourishing in peace,
And blest with issue of a large increase;
Worn out with business, did at length debate
To settle the succession of the state: 10
And, pondering which of all his sons was fit
To reign, and wage immortal war with wit,
Cried, 'Tis resolved; for nature pleads, that he
Should only rule, who most resembles me.
Shadwell alone my perfect image bears,
Mature in dulness from his tender years:
Shadwell alone, of all my sons, is he
Who stands confirm'd in full stupidity.
The rest to some faint meaning make pretence,
But Shadwell never deviates into sense. 20
Some beams of wit on other souls may fall,
Strike through, and make a lucid interval;
But Shadwell's genuine night admits no ray,
His rising fogs prevail upon the day.
Besides, his goodly fabric fills the eye,
And seems design'd for thoughtless majesty:
Thoughtless as monarch oaks, that shade the plain,
And, spread in solemn state, supinely reign.
Heywood and Shirley[140] were but types of thee,
Thou last great prophet of tautology. 30
Even I, a dunce of more renown than they,
Was sent before but to prepare thy way;
And, coarsely clad in Norwich drugget, came
To teach the nations in thy greater name.

Why would anyone follow Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the exact opposite of all that the world approves. Then why would anyone want to follow him? Samuel Godfrey George reads from Philip Yancey's "A Skeptic's Guide To Faith".

Rabindranath Tagore - Jana Gana Mana
Samuel Godfrey George reads the English translation of Rabindranath Tagore's poem, "Jana Gana Mana"
O! Dispenser of India's destiny, thou art the ruler of the minds of all people
Thy name rouses the hearts of Punjab, Sindh, Gujarat, the Maratha country,
in the Dravida country, Utkala and Bengal;
It echoes in the hills of the Vindhyas and Himalayas,
it mingles in the rhapsodies of the pure waters of Yamuna and the Ganges.
They chant only thy name.
They seek only thy auspicious blessings.
They sing only the glory of thy victory.
The salvation of all people waits in thy hands,
O! Dispenser of India's destiny, thou art the ruler of the minds of all people
Victory to thee, Victory to thee, Victory to thee,
Victory, Victory, Victory, Victory to thee!.

Hark, My Soul, It Is The Lord!
Jesus speaks, and speaks to thee,
"Say, poor, sinner, lovest thou Me?"
"Say, poor, sinner, lovest thou Me?"
Hark My Soul, It Is The Lord
Lord, it is my chief complaint
That my love is weak and faint;
Yet I love Thee, and adore:
O for grace to love Thee more!
That my love is weak and faint;
Yet I love Thee, and adore:
O for grace to love Thee more!

God Cannot Be Scientifically Proven
God is a spiritual truth to be spiritually discerned. He is discerned when deep connects with deep, when a human spirit seeks a divine spirit. Those who cannot see God are those who are without a desire to know God. And those who demand scientific proof for his existence to believe in him are those who have no knowledge of the spiritual and who are resistant to the truth that God is not a scientifically demonstrable fact.

In My Father's House
Those who believe in Jesus Christ believe in heaven, the home of God. Now research into Near Death Experience (NDE) has revealed evidence for an after-life. Even Kat Kerr who has travelled to heaven supernaturally claims that there is indeed a heaven that defies human expectations. The people who aspire to know God must desire to be with Him in heaven.
